Ducommun marks 175th year with luncheon

Huntsville Mayor Travis Dotson had a message for the employees of Ducommun during a luncheon on May 8 celebrating the company’s 175 years of continuous operation: “If you’re not familiar with Ducommun, you’re not familiar with Huntsville, Arkansas.”

Huntsville School Board hires interim superintendent

The Huntsville School Board hired Bryan Law as interim superintendent in a special board meeting that immediately followed its regular monthly board meeting on May 14. 

District not approved for lunch funding

The Huntsville School District does not qualify for a specific kind of funding that would have made lunches free for the entire district next school year, the Huntsville School Board learned Monday night.

Council agrees to look into security system for City Hall

The Huntsville City Council authorized Mayor Travis Dotson to seek bids for a security system for City Hall and passed on its third reading an ordinance allowing city employees to do limited business with the city.

A bull rider launches out of the gate at a recent rodeo. Logan and Teresa Roddy started the Spurs and Cleats Tour and will bring experienced bull riders to Huntsville’s Sky High Arena on Saturday night.

Spurrin’ Sky High

Professional bull riding will be on display Saturday at Sky High Arena when 3 Ring Rodeo Company presents Spurrin’ Sky High beginning at 7 p.m.

Jake Roddy of Huntsville will be riding bulls during Saturday’s Spurrin’ Sky High rodeo event, which is presented by his brother Logan’s 3 Ring Rodeo Company. It will be Jake’s second time riding in Logan’s Spurs and Cleats Tour, following his participation in the April 6 show in Bentonville. Jake said that show was packed with fans, and he hopes and expects Huntsville fans to turn out Saturday at Sky High Arena.
Kolton Reynolds, a 2022 graduate of Huntsville High School and an outfielder for the Crowder  (Mo.) College Roughrider, has been named Region 16 Player of the Year.
It’s that time of year again, with the Huntsville School District’s athletic programs offering a variety of spring pee wee camps.

Norma Raye Dimmit, 80, of Rogers passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Mercy Hospital NWA, Rogers.   She was born Monday, Dec. 13, 1943, in Forum to Joseph Arthur and Retha Mae Frederick White.   Larry Wendell Dimmit, 83, of Rogers passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville.   He was born Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1940, in Aurora to Lloyd Harold and Clara Peters Dimmit.
